As dubbed by National Geographic 20 years ago, Wiscasset holds a unique claim to fame as the "worm capital of the world," boasting a rich tradition of worm digging that stretches back generations. Wormfest will be a celebration of a quirky yet integral part of Wiscasset's history. June 8th will be a day filled with music, local cuisine, entertaining games, and a journey through the fascinating history of worm digging in our community. Highlights include the live band, Something Stupid, a "dirt" pie eating contest, free kids games, food vendors and more!
