the Alliance Board of Directors

Lucia Droby

Lucia and her family relocated to Wiscasset Village from Waldoboro, ME, in 2012. She spent her first year observing and learning about the Village and then approached the Town Planner about the possibility of organizing a Village art walk. She received enthusiastic encouragement and a new era of community engagement and collaboration began. Since then, Lucia has helped to found other community-based programs and is a founding board member of Wiscasset Creative Alliance. Previously, she helped to found the non-profit Community Outreach Group for Landscape Design (COGdesign) in Massachusetts and worked as the founding Executive Director for 17 years, giving her the event planning experience which she has put to use in Wiscasset. She is a former video news journalist for the then CBS-TV affiliate in Boston, MA, and is an avid gardener, receiving a gold medal from the Mass. Horticultural Society for her efforts in bringing the benefits of horticulture to under-resourced groups in greater Boston.

Alissa Eason

Alissa first visited Maine in July of 2019 and owned a home in Wiscasset by that same November. Drawn by the natural beauty of the state – and away from the often-stifling heat of Texas summers – she has been quick to embrace both Wiscasset’s physical and its civic climate. Alissa has been a lifelong volunteer. Her accomplishments include working as a voter-registration activist in the 1980s, a public-schools advocate and regular PTA board member in the 1990s and 2000s, and as a decades-long community organizer and supporter of historic architecture. In her professional life, she has contributed to educational and economic development efforts in communities from Southeast Asia to the Caribbean to Central Africa. Alissa is now applying her skills as an organizer, a strategist, a negotiator, and an incisive decision-maker as a board member of the Wiscasset Creative Alliance, with an initial focus on the newly revived annual Wiscasset Homes on Tour.

Ann Light

Ann’s earliest career was as a registered nurse specializing in labor and delivery.  After marrying a naval aviator, her career plans took a backseat to a military life with four children.  Ann spent many years living in various countries and thrived in the locations which gave her opportunities for jobs and volunteer work with people who needed support and resources. She taught English and cooking in Japan, managed a large producers-only Farmers’ Market in Pennsylvania and owned a swim school in Egypt.  Since Ann's move to Maine in 2019, she has participated in many Wiscasset organizations including the public library, Lincoln County Historical Association, Garden Club of Wiscasset, Maine Meal Assistance, and more. Ann enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, home renovation, cooking, volunteering, and entertaining friends.

Dan Watts

Dan and his wife Carol permanently moved to Maine in 2018 to be closer to family. They came from a small town in Connecticut where Dan was elected to multiple terms on the town’s Board of Assessment Appeals, a position that paid $50. a year, an amount that was supposedly set by a state statute in the late 1800’s to prevent board members from taking bribes. It was this small-town atmosphere that brought him to Wiscasset and a close-knit community that prides itself on achieving a way of life that supports its rich heritage, community involvement, and social variety. Within the first year of living in Wiscasset, Dan joined the town Budget Committee to learn more about the town’s infrastructure and how it operates. He also joined the Lincoln County Historical Association and the Wiscasset Yacht Club where he was elected Treasurer in 2021, and joined the board of Wiscasset Creative Alliance in 2023. His professional life spanning 40+ years included various aspects of financial activities ranging from company audits, company initial public offerings or IPO’s, venture capital start-ups, and healthcare mergers and acquisitions. In retirement, Dan looks forward to more involvement in town projects and activities and the need to satisfy his boating itch.
