River Arts is pleased to present Mary Ann Heinzen’s solo show, “Watercolor Textures: Plein Air and Studio Works in Water Media” in the River Room. Meet the artist at an opening reception on Saturday, September 20, from 2pm to 4pm.

Heinzen's paintings are characterized by their loose, painterly style, vibrant colors, and bold contrasts. Her versatility shines through as she effortlessly transitions between representational and abstract styles, showcasing a diverse range of artistic expression.

Through a delicate balance of control and spontaneity, Heinzen seeks to convey an emotional connection to her subjects. Employing a wet-into-wet watercolor technique, she allows the colors to blend in unexpected and beautiful ways, fostering a dialogue between herself and the paper that gives rise to captivating works of art.
