River Arts is pleased to announce artist Kharris Brill’s solo show, “Repurposed Treasures,” in the River Room. The exhibit features the artist’s original, one-of-a-kind assemblages of found objects.
Meet the artist at the opening reception on Saturday, May 17 from 2-4.
Kharris’s creations include linear stained glass pieces, batik, reclaimed wood furniture-making, and found object assemblages, using salvage for anything she can. In all her media, she finds inspiration in the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and Joseph Cornell.
Kharris: “My definition of Art is a little, well…loose. Over the years I have become a visual dissector: My curiosity seems to skip The Whole Shebang and zeroes in on the curious detail of almost anything I see.”
location: River Arts, 36 Elm Street Plaza, Damariscotta, Maine. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm. FMI: www.riverartsme.org or call the gallery at 563-6868.
